I’m so excited to be starting my 5th year as Assistant Principal at Woodmen-Roberts Elementary. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Adams State College in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Elementary Education and minor in Business Administration. After earning my degree I was hired to teach 5th grade in Falcon School District. During that time I attended the University of Colorado and earned my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Leadership. I was hired as the Assistant Principal at Remington Elementary for the next 4 years.
In 2002, my husband and I welcomed our first child and we made the decision for me to stay home and raise our child. During my years at home we welcomed two more beautiful children into our lives. All three of our kiddos attended Woodmen-Roberts Elementary and we are so very proud of their accomplishments and the young people that they are.
In 2012, I decided it was time for me to start getting my foot back into education. I worked at Colorado Christian University as a Supervisor for student teachers and taught courses in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. This position allowed me to visit schools and classrooms all over the Pikes Peak area and solidified my desire to return to public education. In the fall of 2014 I was hired to teach 3rd grade here at Woodmen-Roberts Elementary. This was a fantastic year of rekindling my love of education and teaching.
It’s going to be an amazing year as our staff builds relationships with each and every student to ensure their emotional and educational growth. I am proud to serve our staff, students and community this 2020-21 school year!
